Product Description

Trinomial cube contains twenty seven wooden blocks that when organized, the prisms form a cube that is contained in a box with two sides opened to expose the color pattern of the sides of the cube.

1 red cube and 6 black and red prisms that vary in size
1 blue cube and 6 black and blue prisms that vary in size.
1 yellow cube and 6 black and yellow prisms that vary in size.
6 black prisms of same size

Purpose

To develop the child's visual sense of shape, concentration, order, coordination, and independence.
To develop appreciation for beauty of form in three dimensions (3D)
To preparation the child for the algebraic concepts involved in the trinomial theorem in later and higher level of elementary school education.

Exercise

In the beginning, remove the lid and place it on the diagonal of the box so there is the visibility of the painting facing upwards and pull down one side at a time.
Using your thumb, index and middle fingers, gently take out all of the prisms, one by one and keep each level together.
Place each cube in a row but make sure there is space between each cube
Encourage and let the the child to find a prism with the same exact height as the red cube, even if it is of different color.
Similarly, finish the demonstration of all three levels.
Invite the child to work with the trinomial cube, and allow him/ her to set up the box as done during the demonstration
Remove all of the prisms and place them all together to the right of the box randomly.
Encourage the child to build and start placing the cubes and prisms accordingly.
Monitor and assist the child when needed.
